Following are the types of combinations in Poker hand:

  Five of a kind

It is the highest possible hand in poker. It can occur only when a wild card is used in the game. Four 9s and a wild card or two Kings and three wild cards are a perfect example of Five of a kind.

 Straight Flush

It is the highest hand when playing without wild cards. It consists of five cards in the same suit sequence, i.e., 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 of diamonds.

 Four of a kind

This is the second-highest combination, below the straight flush. It consists of four cards of the same rank and the fifth unmatched card. Like four 5s and 7 of spades.

 Full House

We have three cards of the same rank in the full house and the other two cards of the same position. Like three 9s of spades and two 7s of diamonds.

 Flush

We consider the combination as a flush whenever we have five cards of the same suit without the compulsion of sequence in the rank—for example, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 of diamonds.

♦  Straight

In straight, we have five cards of different suits but with a sequence in rank. For example, 10 of spades, 9 of hearts, 8 of clubs, 7 of spades, and 6 of the diamond.

 Three of a kind

In this combination, we have three cards of the same ranks and the other two cards of different positions, i.e., three 8s and 4, 3 of hearts.

  Two pairs

We have two teams of the same rank in two pairs, and the fifth card is of a different position. Like two Qs, two 10s, and a 5 of spades.

  One pair

One pair consists of one pair of the same rank and the other three cards of different positions, like two 10s, 8, 7, and 5 hearts.

  No pair

This is the lowest of the combinations in Poker. Here no same rank or no same suit is present in hand. There are no pairs in more than two hands; they are judged based on the cards’ ranks. Like, 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2 will be valued on 10, 8, 5, 4, and 2.
